New Salvador Dali Museum in Florida

It takes courage to take on a project like this. Designing a museum dedicated to Salvador Dali and his creations is not an easy thing to do. The Spanish surrealist painter has set the bar high with his amazing, even mesmerizing creations, so no ordinary museum will ever do.

Fortunately, architectural firm HOK did the artist justice with the 68,000 square-foot museum they created in St. Petersburg, Florida. Based on an innovative, geodesic design, the structure can withstands extreme weather conditions and protect the 2,140 pieces of Dali art from the harshest hurricanes that could ever occur in the area.

Innovation and imagination were two essential characteristics that needed to define this new museum in order to perfectly represent Salvador Dali’s spirit. It is a wonderful tribute to the renowned artist, in every single detail.
