New Alpina XD3 Biturbo Package Unveiled at Geneva

Alpina has completed its first BMW X-Series project, based on the beautiful X3. The result is pretty impressive, with the upgraded car boasting 350 HP at 4,000 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque at 1,500-3,000 rpm. Powering the new Alpina XD3 Biturbo is a straight-6, full aluminum 3.0-liter engine with two turbochargers,common-rail direct injection, and variable turbine geometry.

Maybe you’ve started worrying about the car’s fuel consumption. Well, you can relax now, because the tuners have also managed to keep emissions low and efficiency high. The exact figures are 180 g/km for CO2 emissions, and 41.5 mpg US for fuel efficiency. The engine sends its power to the wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

Other tweaks include custom exhaust manifold, electronically-adjustable dampers, dual tailpipes and stainless steel exhaust system. Interior modifications range from a new sports steering wheel and green/blue stitching to a digital speed display and gear indicator. Finally, the XD3 Biturbo is fitted with 20-inch Alpina Classic wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
