Mainfreight co-founder Neil Graham has spent $2.8 million on a extremely exclusive Aston Martin One-77. Part of a limited edition of only 77 examples, the car is reportedly the most expensive automobile in New Zealand. Its owner has already got a pretty impressive luxury car collection (including a Mercedes SL 65 AMG worth $950,000), but this one is simply greater than all the others.

Auckland’s Aston Martin dealership, Independent Prestige, was proud to announce that New Zealand had never seen such an expensive car purchase before. The dealership’s general manager, Lee Small, described the car as “an absolute work of art. (…) a sculpture really. I don’t know how often I’d use it”.

With an aluminum body and a carbon fiber chassis, the One-77 weighs only 3,310 pounds and is able to complete the 0-62 mph sprint in about 3.5 seconds before reaching the maximum speed of 220 mph. The 7.3-liter V12 engine boasts 760 horsepower. Graham’s custom model has got a black exterior and a red leather upholstery.
