New York boasts some truly refined luxury restaurants with expensive dishes, like the most expensive dessert or the most expensive “Haute Dog”. Del Posto Restaurant is one such luxe eatery and its chef, Mario Batali has recently introduced the most expensive meal list, consisting of twelve courses and compulsory wine pairings. The price? No less than $1,126 per couple.
Included in this price are some really delicious foods like Cesare’s Prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano-Reggiano & Wild Watercress, Carne Cruda with Truffled Salsa, Scungilli due with Black Garlic, Black Pepper, Lemon & Parsley and more. The fine wine collection includes Dom Perignon Rosé 1992, Dom Perignon 1995, Billecart-Salmon Brut Cuvée N.F. 2000 and Armand De Brignac Brut NV. The fresh ingredients needed for the “feast” are flown in from Italy to ensure a perfectly authentic taste.
The select ambiance of the restaurant is also reflected in the steep price of the meal, and for good reasons too. Del Posto received a four star rating from the New York Times. We say it’s definitely worth a try!
