Ministry of Design’s Office in Singapore

Ministry of Design Office in Singapore (4)

Ministry of Design’s (MOD) self-designed studio occupies six converted shop houses in Singapore. They wanted a space that would be large enough to host the entire office on one level and they finally found one at the confluence of Singapore’s Central Business District and the historic Chinatown area.

MOD believes that creativity is stimulated by openness and spaces that allow communication and interaction. They didn’t want barriers and hierarchy in their office spaces, but just one truly open area. The work areas was intentionally finished only in black and white for a simple reason: the neutral background allows designers to explore different ideas without interfering with the project.
