Just in case you’re not familiar with annual calendars when it comes to wristwatches, we’ll tell you that it represents a cross between a simple and a perpetual calendar. That means that it recognizes months that have 30 and 31 days, but it does need a manual adjustment once a year at the end of February. Ulysse Nardin, one of the world’s best Swiss watchmakers, has developed an innovative annual calendar system that uses just 12 components.
This is impressive because normal annual calendars make use of 30 parts. The Marine Chronograph Annual Calendar timepiece features a 43mm case, as well as a sapphire crystal caseback that offers a clear view of the UN-153 calibre self-winding movement housed within. As for the dial, it boasts a beautiful deep blue color as well as roman numerals.
Aside from the central hands that indicate the seconds, minutes and hours, there’s also a chronograph feature included, which is always nice to see. Other highlights include a water resistance of 328 feet, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, an hour counter at 6 o’clock and a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock.
