If you were hoping to get your hands on one of Marilyn Monroe’s jewelry pieces or accessories, you’ll be sad to know that her famed Cocktail Watch was recently auctioned off for no less than $225,000. The timepiece in question was actually purchased by its original manufacturer, Blancpain, and it was taken back to its home country in Switzerland.
What makes this watch special apart from the fact that it was worn by one of the most iconic women of the 1950s, is that it is decorated with 71 round diamonds and 2 marquise diamonds. The Julien’s Auctions event also offered other Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, including the dress that she wore when she sang “Happy Birthday” to Kennedy, which fetched $450,000.
