Paradoxically, as the economic situation of the world went down, the number of Indian billionaires went up. This phenomenon has encouraged jet makers to try and recover from the collapse of 2008-2009.
In 2010 alone, 17 new billionaires rose in India and it seems that more and more wealthy people in the country realize the importance of owning a private jet. More than a luxury toy, jets are essential for a rich men’s business trips and meetings.
Trevor Esling, the vice-president for international sales of Cessna Aircraft Co., said that he expects “India to be in the top 10 individual countries for business jet ownership outside the United States” by 2025.
