Owning your own helicopter is usually considered an achievement in itself, but only when you’re rich enough to buy an Airbus you can finally say that you’ve made it in this world. The company’s H160 VIP masterpiece represents a luxurious version of the most advanced helicopter in the world, and it required more than $1 billion in development costs.
The chopper costs $22 million, and since it is based on the H160, it features a cruising speed of 185 mph as well as a range of 500 miles. It can accommodate 12 passengers in total, and it is powered by a pair of Turbomeca Arrano turboshaft engines that flaunt an output of 1,300 shaft horsepower, all of which animate Airbus’ own Blue Edge blades. The owner can customize the cabin according to his or her liking, at least as far as the rich leather, wood and metal elements are concerned. If you want to order one of these luxurious helicopters yourself, you should know that deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2018.
