The upcoming Bonhams & Butterfields sale of Fine Writing Instruments will feature some of the most exclusive and consequently most expensive writing jewels in the world. One of them is the gorgeous Diamond Solitaire fountain pen from Montblanc.The elite instrument is made of 18-karat gold and it is studded with more than 4,600 clear-cut white diamonds, plus seven exclusive diamonds on the cap.
The Diamond Solitaire was made in a limited edition to keep its exclusivity and appeal to luxury aficionados. At the event (which will take place in Los Angeles on May 23) the fountain pen is expected to raise up to $175,000.
Another special offer at the auction will be a set of 53 Winston Churchill fountain pens, also from Montblanc. These piece are the last one produced in their series and are expected to sell for $15,000-$25,000 each.
