A couple of years ago, Fiat impressed us with a really awesome Ferrari-inspired vehicle, called the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. This year, the company decided to pay tribute to another luxe auto brand, and so they launched the Abarth 695 Maserati Edition.
Fiat will only produce 499 examples of this new limited edition convertible, expected to hit the market at the end of 2012. The retractable soft roof, made of a high-quality gray fabric, is electronically controlled for a smooth conversion. Underneath it, a high-end interior is meant to offer a remarkable level of comfort and sophistication. Poltrona Frau leather seats, black leather steering wheel, and Jaeger LeCoultre dials are all part of the upgraded interior of the car.
Powering the vehicle is a 1.4-liter engine helped by a Garrett turbocharger to produce 180 hp, and 184 lb-ft of torque in Sport mode. Other enhancements include 17-inch Maserati-Neptun alloys, a Record Monza dual-mode exhaust system with variable backpressure, new oversized Brembo brakes, and stiffer shocks. Another alluring feature that can be seen in the pictures below is the elegant color of the car, known as Pontevecchio Bordeaux.
