Lakeshore House in Potsdam

Lakeshore House in Potsdam project is a 2,600-square-foot residence completed in 2009 by Archibald Buro studio. The building is situated in the “Wildpark West” residential estate, outside Potsdam, in the federal state of Brandenburg.

The house was built mainly from Lenotec, which are massive wooden plates fixed and covered with gutex (wooden insulation). The architects didn’t want to use metal sheets, so the windows were just fitted between the horizontal panels. The façade was kept simple, with painted softwood, so as to resemble a white wooden box. The green glass plates of the entrance give a warm and natural feel to the entire house, and the living room’s large folding glass doors offer magnificent views of the lake and the surrounding area.
