Kia’s Upscale GT Concept Unveiled at Frankfurt

Kia is not exactly famous for creating high-end automobiles, but that doesn’t mean it can’t! At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show the Korean automaker has just unveiled a quite impressive coupe-like four-door, targeted at the more upscale consumers.

Called the Kia GT Concept, the car flaunts a rear-wheel drive production platform and a 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 engine. Some 389 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque are sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

While the exterior styling might not suit everybody’s taste, the interior is less controversial. It features soft, organic forms, a unique glass instrument panel and different colors and materials for the front and rear one-piece seats.
