Jalen Rose to Give His 1969 Dodge for Charity

Jalen Rose to Give His 1969 Dodge for Charity (18)

Former NBA player and one of the famous Fab Five from the University of Michigan, Jalen Rose, decided to sell his 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee. He plans on auctioning it off in order to raise money for Jalen Rose Leadership Academy (JRLA), a charitable organization founded in his name.

JRLA is a preparatory school for 9 to 12 graders. When it will open in September, the school will welcome 120 students (in 9th grade) and Rose wants to give up his precious Dodge for these kids. The car will come with a few customizations that the NBA star has made, including the “05” number on the doors, the new roof (without the Confederate flag), and his personal signature under the hood.

The opening bid for the 1969 Dodge will be of $45,000, and the no-reserve auction will begin on May 23rd. You can find more information about JRLA and the car itself on eBay.
