DPAI Architecture’s experts renovated this lovely home in Hamilton, Canada, and as you can see for yourself, the result is purely breathtaking. Finished in 2012, the house features an eye-catching modern design, but it still respects the neighborhood’s historical legacy.
During the renovation process, the architects wanted to focus on the front porch in order to emphasize its social importance. Therefore, they eliminated the enclosed garage and designed a carport that would encourage the owners to exchange a few words with their neighbors while they are walking from their car to the front door.
Inside, horizontally oriented windows offer perfect views of the outdoors while welcoming natural light throughout the living areas. The social spaces on the ground floor are linked to an outdoor patio located at the rear of the lot, which includes a comfortable sofa and a coffee table. The different levels are connected by an interior wooden staircase, which is as practical as it is elegant.
