The beautiful contemporary House U is a home designed for multiple generations. The clients were a large family composed of a couple and their adult children who also had families of their own. Located in Dubrovnik, Croatia, the residence is set on an elevated lot with views towards Lokrum Island and the Old City. The architecture studio that completed the project was3LHD, known for successfully merging architecture and design with urban landscape and art.
Minimalist and very Zen, House U is divided into two main volumes: one for the parents and one for the younger families. Between these two volumes there is an outdoor terrace which acts both as a separation and as a connection area. The interiors flaunt simple custom made furnishings, and the exterior was decorated with ornamental stone in order to keep a visual connection to the surrounding rocky landscape. The blue pool is also a nice reflection of the nearby sea.
