Looking like inspired by Cubism, the River Road House is a creation of Hughes Umbanhowar Architects, and it is located in the Sewall’s Point residential community, in Florida. It is surrounded by beautiful, exotic plants, in each of the perfectly arranged courtyards, thus matching the lovely landscape around. The 12,300 square foot waterfront mansion is set on a hill.
A series of geometrical shapes of different dimensions, colors and materials compose the house itself, giving it a very modern look. Italian limestone, stucco, glass and mahogany, they all come together to create a structure that’s coherent despite of the fact that it is composed of many different elements.
The interior of this complex structure continues the expression of modernity and luxury through almost every detail. Colors, textures and shapes, they all suggest wealth and good taste. The passage from private to public or from busy to relaxing areas of the house is made in a gradual and logical manner. Spacious rooms and large windows allow natural light to fill the mansion and offer a sense of liberty. And to top it off, the house offers dramatic views of the water.
