Natural stone, bamboo, Ipe wood (also known as ‘iron wood’), glass, steel: the materials used for making this exquisite house are both modern and classic. Moreover, the architects knew exactly how and where to use them in order to create the most pleasant atmosphere.
East Windsor Residence is located in Austin, Texas and it has three stories, a master suite and beautiful private garden among other attractive features. Probably the most interesting thing about it is the 16’ Ipe (pronounced ‘eepay’) screen that surrounds a part of the house. This can be opened to reveal the dining room, as there are two 10’ sections in the screen.
There is a very appealing modern look to this house that will certainly inspire many of us when planning to build our own home.
