Since it was launched for the first time back in 2009, the HM3 timepiece by MB&F gradually became one of the brand’s most appreciated models, mostly due to its unique, futuristic looks and the impressive technology that it comprises. Six years later, the Swiss watchmaker decided to give this particular model a last hurrah in the form of the HM3 MegaWind Final Edition: Light in Darkness timepiece, which is limited to just 25 units.
The original MegaWind was launched in 2013 and includes a series of rotating cones that move past a set of fixed hands in order to ensure utmost readability. Flaunting an 18k gold case that measures 47 x 50 x 17 millimeters, the timepiece features a black, elegant look achieved with the help of a PVD treatment. The time indicators for the hours and minutes received a coating of Super-LumiNova – a very impressive feat considering the fact that the lume was painted entirely by hand on the watch’s truncated cones. Speaking of which, these cones rotate and indicate the hours on the left and the minutes on the right.
This very special timepiece costs $88,863, and given its exclusivity and heritage, we think that it is well worth the price.
