Most custom-made motorcycles out there are accompanied by premium price tags, which is understandable considering that they embody exclusivity and originality. However, the Himalayan adventure bike won’t ask you to burn through all of your savings in order to become its owner, as it doesn’t cost more than $3,000. So what do you get for this price? Quite a bit actually, as this particular two-wheeler was created by Royal Enfield in collaboration with CS Santosh.
The bike required two years of hard work in order to be complete, and just as its name suggests, it was tested extensively throughout the Himalayas. Its power comes from an LS410 single-cylinder four-stroke engine that delivers 24.5 horsepower to the rear wheel with the help of a five-speed gearbox. Simple yet reliable, the Himalayan boasts aluminum panniers, a steel semi-double cradle, a rear shock, 41mm forks and a series of attachments for side-cases and other supports.
This bike is set to become available in April.
