Gorgeous 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

This new year has only just begun and it has already brought a whole bunch of automotive goodies with it. One of them is this superb 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, just unveiled at the NAIAS in Detroit. Described by its makers as boasting a “perfect balance of technology, design and performance”, this is definitely a car to die for.

The first thing that impresses about it is its absolutely flawless revolutionary design. The long, ventilated carbon hood, the removable “double bubble” roof, the HID headlights with integrated LEDs, the prominent spoiler at the rear, the Camaro-inspired taillights, and the massive new wheels are all there to make the car completely irresistible to any potential customer.

Under the sporty hood there is a direct injected 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine with 450 hp and 609 Nm of torque. Given that the frame of the car is made of aluminum, and that an extremely lightweight carbon nano material was extensively used for the body, it is no surprise that the new Stingray can complete the 0-60 mph sprint in less than 4 seconds. And all this with an impressive fuel consumption of only 26+ mpg US on the highway.

Interested customers can also opt for the thrill-boosting Z51 Performance Package, which comes with better aerodynamics, excellent stability at high speeds, a better differential or transmission cooling, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a dry-sump oil system. The exact price for all this awesome ride is still undisclosed, but the automaker did announce its intention of putting the car on the market by Q3 of 2013.
