Good and Bad News from Mercedes

You’ll probably want us to begin with the bad news, so that you can enjoy the good one afterwards. So here it is: it seems that Mercedes-Benz decided not to bring the street-legal version of its SLS AMG GT3 to the States, as the U.S. certifying costs are just too big for the low volume production of the car. The same reasons are making it very difficult for the German automaker to decide whether or not to send the SLS AMG E-Cell to the other side of the pond. It is confirmed however that the car will enter the European market sometime towards the end of 2012, as a heavier and more expensive version of the gas version.

And now for the good news! Even though there aren’t too many details available right now, it was confirmed that Mercedes will bring to life a hard core SLS AMG Black Series. This will definitely thrill those adrenaline seekers that cannot be satisfied with the standard SLS AMG. We hope this one will get to the States soon.
