Golden Christmas Tree by Ginza Tanaka: $2 Million

Yes, a Christmas tree can cost almost $2 million, when it’s entirely made of gold! Twelve kilos (over 26 pounds) of solid gold, to be more exact. The opulent tree was made by famous Japanese jewelry company Ginza Tanaka, and is 2.4 meters (almost 8 feet) high. Adorned with golden ribbons and hearts, the luxe Christmas tree is worth approximately $1.95 million. It will be on display in Tokyo at the Ginza Tanaka jewelry store until December 25.

This is not the first time that the store made a dazzling creation to celebrate the winter holydays. Back in 2006, the company created another golden Christmas tree, but that one was worth “only” $850,000.

The record for the most expensive Christmas tree, however, is still held by the magnificent tree that the Emirates Palace unveiled last year in its lobby. The 43-foot tall tree was worth $11 million.Golden Christmas Tree by Ginza Tanaka: $2 Million (1)
