Louis Vuitton timepieces are fabulous by definition, but the new GMT model manages to stand out thanks to its uniquely shaped case. The case’s shape is midway between a circle and a square, and it represents the La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton’s struggle to push the boundaries of creativity. Apart from its aesthetics, though, the timepiece includes a GMT complication that would surely appeal to travel enthusiasts.
The case flaunts a polished top as well as satin finishes on its sides, but the dial has also received a satin finish treatment. Speaking of the dial, its design was inspired by the letter V, which indicates 12 o’clock and helps create a steel bridge for extra support. This is a mechanical watch with an automatic winding system, and it shows the second time on a disk calibrated at 24 hours and divided into two colors for the day and night.
One version of this watch comes with a luxurious Taurillon leather strap, but there are also two more versions available, one of which boasts a steel case with a grey or anthracite dial, while the other is an 18-carat pink gold masterpiece with a dark blue dial and an alligator bracelet. If you want to wear a steel bracelet instead, you’ll be glad to know that LV uses one with polished and satin-finished links.
