Ralph Lauren, the famous American fashion designer, recently decided to show off his love for his favorite car, a Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, by releasing a superb new Automotive Chronograph timepiece. Masculine, elegant and reliable, the watch is a part of the Sporting Collection and flaunts a round 45mm stainless steel case that comes with 6 exposed screws on its bezel. These screws remind of the ones found on the hub that links the steering wheel of the Bugatti to the column, and the similarities between don’t end here.
Another fine example would be the outer dial made out of elm burl wood that represents a nod to the vehicle’s wooden dashboard. Furthermore, the Arabic numerals found on the dial are similar to those implemented onto the car’s gauges.
Now that we’ve established the link between the watch and the car, it’s time to tell you a bit about the timepiece itself and its performance capabilities. The Ralph Lauren Automotive Chronograph is powered by an RL98295 caliber manufacture mechanical movement that boasts a power reserve of 45 hours. The stainless steel case provides water resistance for a plus of reliability, while the strap is made out of supple calfskin in order to add a touch of sophistication and fine taste.
