One of the rarest whiskies released by Glenfiddich will very soon (September 4) be offered for tasting as part of a world-class experience at Bar 1919 in San Antonio, Texas. Only 50 bottles of the limited-edition spirit were released this year for worldwide sale, at prices that ranged from $25,000 to $27,000. We are, of course, talking about the Glenfiddich 50 Years Old.
This, however, will not be the only thing guests will be pampered with at the event. For $1,500 each, twenty lucky people will have the privilege of also tasting the Glenfiddich 30 Years Old, as well as the 1974 Vintage. A five course meal will be prepared for the guests by chef Stefan Bowers of Feast restaurant in San Antonio.
The host of the event will be the distillery’s ambassador, David Allardice. He will lead everybody present through a memorable experience of discovering a complex and vibrant Scotch whisky with notes of vanilla toffee and orange marmalade, with deeper layers of fruit, herbs, and hints of smoke, and a lasting dry oak finish.
