Unveiled during the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix, the Bell & Ross BR-XI RS16 Edition includes a pair of special timepieces named BR-X1 RS16 and RS16 Tourbillon BR-X1, both of which honor the name of Renault’s car of choice for this year’s Formula 1 season. The first editions of these watches will be worn by Renault drivers Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer, but regular Formula 1 fans will also be able to get their hands on them, as they will be sold in limited numbers.
The Bell & Ross BR-X1 collection was designed with toughness in mind, which is why these watches include sturdy materials such as titanium grade 5 and carbone forge – a non-porous, water-resistant material. Since the carbon fibers are mixed in a unique manner for each and every piece, the collection boasts a strong sense of individuality and originality.
The dials were created using a gray-tinted sapphire crystal, and they are studded with metal appliqué indexes complemented by photo luminescent inserts. The BR-X1 RS16 Skeleton Chronograph is a sporty watch that can be used to measure short time intervals, while the RS16 Tourbillon BR-X1 is a part of a limited edition of just 20 pieces, and it is much more elegant.
