When it comes to making a good pilot’s watch, there’s no better brand out there than Breitling. The Swiss company has evolved quite a bit over the years, but its Emergency Watch is still one of its most appreciated models, all thanks to its durability and versatility. Flaunting a case that measures 51mm in width and 12.6mm in thickness, the Emergency Watch has just received a series of new colorways that highlight its face, bezel and straps.
These colors include blue, orange and yellow, all of which are quite bold and intriguing in their own way. The thick titanium case houses a dual antenna, which can be deployed in order to send out a dual frequency signal to the International Cospas Sarasat satellite system. This triggers an emergency response system that is able to rescue the wearer anywhere on the globe, which is pretty amazing if you think about it.
Other highlights of the Emergency Watch include a super-quartz movement, a chronograph, a bi-directional bezel and a digital day and date calendar. The $18,000 price tag is fully justified, especially when you consider the 164-foot waterproofness and the sapphire glare-proofed crystal that keeps the dial safe from the elements.
