Eden Project Is the World’s Largest Greenhouse 12

Giant bubbles surrounded by beautiful plants – this is what you first make of it when you see the largest greenhouse in the world. Located in Cornwall, UK, the Eden Project consists of three main artificial biomes: the tropical one, the Mediterranean one and the outdoor one. Fruiting coconut trees, banana trees, rubber, coffee and huge bamboo trees, all these and many more can be seen in the Tropical Biome, while olives, grape vines and other European plants are part of the Mediterranean one. Obviously, the Outdoor Biome is a display of UK flora, with plants like sunflower, lavender and hops.

The Eden Project is impressive not only for its wide variety of plants of all sizes, shapes and colors, but also for the fact that it is a very environmentally-conscious project that features sustainable solutions like wind energy and rainwater collecting systems. Who would have thought that hundreds of inflated, plastic cells and several tons of steel frames could do so much good for our beloved nature?
