Located in Laguna Beach, Orange County, California, USA, this 3,000 square foot residence was completed in 2008 by McClean Design.
Davidson Residence was designed for a single-family who loved nature and wanted the house to be an open space connected to the garden. The architects used stone as well as sleek materials, such as stainless steel, glass, black metal panels and aluminum. Although horizontal lines characterize the house, the curved, dark metal-panel front contrasts this pattern and highlights the green color of the garden.
The kitchen and living room open into the garden through a 30-foot-high sliding glass wall, connecting the indoor with the outdoor living space. The colors used for the inside match the ones for the outside design: black, white, silver and grey. Upstairs are the bedrooms for the owner’s two daughters and a family room.
