Even though it is located in an urban area, the site that was chosen for this particular home was surprisingly full of vegetation, not to mention that a neighboring tree managed to spread out into the lot with some of its branches. Therefore, the expert architects from Architecture Continuous were faced with a few challenges when they designed the Mobius Home in Bangalore, India, as the owners did not want to disturb the old tree and its branches.
The residence features a simple design that incorporates the large tree through a series of openings. We’ve seen this kind of architecture before, and it’s always nice to see home owners that choose to adapt their homes to the local site instead of modifying the site to suit their needs. The Mobius home is incredibly spacious and comfortable, but one of its most impressive highlights comes in the form of sustainability. It offers great views of the outdoors thanks to its glass walls and large windows, and it even includes a double height courtyard garden with multiple skylights that channel natural light to the living areas.
