Casey Kasem, the famous creator and host of American Top 40, also known as the voice behind Shaggy, the iconic character from Scooby-Doo, has decided to sell his lavish residence in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. The plush property was bought by Kasem for his wife Jean, back in 1989, when they were expecting a baby.
Interestingly, he only paid $1.725 for it, which is much less than what the celebrity is asking today: an impressive $42 million. Considering its location in one of LA’s most affluent neighborhoods, the price is not that exaggerated. Another factor that should be taken into account is that Kasem spent pots of money on continuous renovations and upgrades over the years.
Among the many upscale amenities to enjoy on this luxe property there is a heart-shaped pool, a Bobby Trent Jones-designed par-three golf course, two bathhouses, motor court with fountain, beautifully maintained lawns and gardens, citrus trees, grape and strawberry bushes, a tennis court, and tall boundary walls.
The 7bedroom, 11.5-bathroom main residence boasts an elegant library, a design studio, and even a hair salon, among its many other high-end conveniences. Check out the following photos for a closer look at this magnificent estate, the house and its gorgeous interiors.
