Andres Remy Arquitectos saw this project as a big challenge, but they tackled every obstacle with great skill and rich imagination. The main issue was the location of the lot, which was in a crowded urban area, between two neighboring buildings that threatened the project’s isolation and views.
The architect’s answer to this problem was to create a residence with an introspective posture, that focuses on the views that its architecture creates, rather than on exterior views. Located in Villa Devoto, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and called Casa Devoto, the house was made for a young couple and their children. It is a 5,382-foot home with an outdoor pool, a spa, a sauna, a Jacuzzi and a gym.
Because of the limited area of the lot, Andres Remy Arquitectos reduced the size of the first floor, thus extending the exterior relaxation spaces. The sun path was carefully studied when designing this residence, especially when it came to the placement of the pool. The final result is a big success for the architectural firm. We especially love the seamless transition from the urban environment to the natural setting of the home.
