Completed in 2008, the Blue Jay Way Residence is a stunning project by McClean Design and built by Corr Contemporary Homes. It is located in Los Angeles, California and it offers 6,800 square feet of luxuriously appointed spaces.
Its location – on a lot above Sunset Strip – ensures mind-blowing views of L.A., the Pacific and Catalina Island. This however is not the main attraction of the house: its owners wanted the residence to be built around a center pool. The pool works as an ornamental element on one end and as a 75-foot lap pool on the other.
This central design element is also a physical and visual separation between the private areas (like the master bedroom and the office) and the public areas (the dining, living and kitchen). The material palette is contemporary and soft, and it includes a lot of concrete, stone and wood.
