Guess you never thought it will happen but yes, clogs are back in style! Or at least they will be in 2011. While for some of you they are something to look forward to, and for others they are a black nightmare from the ’70 (or better yet straight out of the Netherlands), clogs actually are, rumor has it, a must have item for 2011.
Clogs are basically shoes that have an open back and are traditionally from Netherlands. They are the type of footwear made out of wood (so they are rather heavy and uncomfortable) and are usually designed in such a way that makes the toes point upwords.
Apart from their unique look, clogs are very practical, as well. Because they don’t have shoe laces or buckles, zippers or anything of the sort, clogs are easy to slip into, as they have an open back. However, the 2011 fashionable clogs have changed their traditional look and have been upgraded. Rather than the traditional dutch shoes, interesting, funky, cool and improved models of the clogs will hit the shelves next year. There will be numerous models in a various range of materials, fabrics, shapes or patterns much different from the original clogs.
The new shoes will also come in “his” and “hers” designs, as being fashionable is important for both men and women.
We believe it is safe to assume that the new trend has been induced by women’s passion for shoes. Women’s clogs are expected to come in all shapes and sizes and also in a wide range of colors. They will have quite a few decorations, as well, such as: broaches, buckles, laces, nails, artificils diamons etc… The new shoes will boast very diverse designs in order to match every personality (while some will go with the classics: black and white, others will search for the ones with the eye-popping colors and funky designs).
Men’s clogs are more likely to appeal to the metrosexual males, and they are not expected to cause such a fuss among them as much as they are expected to do so among women. The reason why clogs are believed to appeal especially to the metrosexual category rather than to all men is that some may feel intimidated by the fact that clogs are originally women’s shoes.
Apart from that, clogs are expected to be a great success because of the fact that you will be able to chose them acording to your personality but also because they are easy to wear and will go with almost anything.
