It’s not very nice outside these days. It’s getting colder and colder, the weather is capricious, and on top of these it gets dark at 5 p.m.
And there are the holidays that have us all completely stressed out. Let’s face it! We need a vacation and fast. And I know exactly where you can go.
Let me introduce you Baha Mar and its latest addition: the SLS Baha Mar, a $4.3 billion playground for adults.
The Bahamas is one of the easiest places to get to in the Caribbean, so why not check this place out? You deserve it! And it’s not because the SLS Baha Mar is the newest hotel on the island, but also because Baha Mar is the most exciting development in the Caribbean.
SLS Baha Mar includes no less than 299 rooms and joins the 1,800 room Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, being the two of the three hotels that will call Baha Mar home. And that’s not all because Rosewood Baha Mar with its 238 residential-style rooms will join the big, happy family in 2018.
Think of Baha Mar as the ultimate playground for adults, mostly because it includes a 100,000-square foot casino, which by the way is the largest in the Caribbean, overlooking the ocean. Also, add more than 20 different restaurants and bars, including the reservation in Nassau at Katsuya by Starck Baha Mar.
You must try one of their insane dishes when you get there. One of them is their off-menu crab rice, which they serve in a 350-degree bowl and cooked tableside.
Continuing the list, I must also mention the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, Royal Blue, which gives you access to the best clubs from Taylor Made, Titleist, Callaway, PXG, and Itobori.
You have free access to stand-up paddleboards, single and double kayaks, single and double clear-bottom kayaks, snorkels, fins, Hobie Cat sailboats, and masks to use along the 3,000 feet of absolutely mesmerizing beachfront that acts as a barrier between the mega-resort and the island’s crystal-clear waters.
Oh, and I must not forget about the sanctuary on-site for guests only where you have the amazing opportunity to swim and snorkel with turtles, nurse sharks, and stingrays. Feeling adventurous already?
And when you’re done adventuring, make sure you head on to the flagship ESPA spa, and just relax.
Now that the SLS Baha Mar is officially open, the cool factor across this mega-resort has gone up. You can expect over-the-top pool parties, appearances by celebrity chefs, luxurious décor, posh pool areas with complete butler services, and the crowd of hip jetsetters to match.
And the SLS team is far from being complete. There are more additions to be made such as a restaurant form a James Beard Award winner – Fi’lia by Chef Michael Schwartz – in December, a VIP pool – Privilege Pool – opening before the end of this year, and the only rooftop lounge on the island – Skybar – opening at the beginning of 2018.
