Amelia Earhart’s 1920s Luxor aviator goggles, which ‘survived’ her first plane crash in July 1921, have been sold for $17,775 at an auction in Oakland, California. The goggles had a really intricate history until they reached Earhart.
Twenty-four photographs were also sold for $13,509 at Clars Auction Gallery, portraying Earhart at a barbershop, making preparations for the round-the-world flight and her plane. Earhart was declared dead in 1939 after her plane disappeared in the Pacific during the second attempt to circumnavigate the globe.
