The scotch whiskey specialist is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a special new product: the Flaming Heart. John Glaser, the president of Compass Box was inspired by Eleuthera, an early limited edition blend. He loved the surprising combination of flavors that could be found in it – “sweet and fruity, with spice and peat” – as he said, so he decided to bring it back in a new form.
Being a blender and not a distiller, Compass Box always uses the best whiskeys for his recipes. The Flaming Heart contains single malt whiskeys from six distilleries in the Northern Highlands and Islands. They were aged in refill American oak (40 %), first-fill American oak (31 %) and new French oak (29 %).
Only 4,000 bottles will be made and 1,800 of them will be sold across the United States. The rest of them should be available abroad by the end of the month. We know many of you are already eagerly waiting for their release on the most important markets. Just keep your eyes and years wide open and your wallet at hand.
