The Sex Pistols were an English punk rock band with a short and turbulent initial career. It lasted only two and a half years, during which time only one album was produced – “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols” – and only four singles. The most famous and most controversial of them was entitled “God Save the Queen”. If you own a copy of the 1977 single, you should know that you actually own a small fortune. Make sure you keep it in mint condition (don’t play it too often) and in a couple of years you might be able to sell it for good money.
According to Record Collector, the 7-inch vinyl disc is worth $12,600 today. The magazine compiled a top 51 most collectible vinyl records and Sex Pistols’ single ranked first. Number two on the list is a first pressing of “Please Please Me”, The Beatles’ first album. It is worth $5,500 if in mint condition. So make sure you check your vinyl collection once more: you might find some really valuable stuff in it.
