1979 Lamborghini Countach To Be Auctioned Off By RM Auctions

Any true automotive enthusiast has a soft spot for classic rides, especially when it comes to classic supercars such as the Lamborghini Countach. If you always wanted to own one of these fantastic rides, you’ll be glad to know that RM Auctions is set to put one under the hammer on August 15, 2014. The vehicle dates back to 1979 and flaunts a 3,929 cc DOHC V-12 engine that’s good for 375 horsepower. All that power is kept in check by a 5-speed manual transmission, but we should also mention the high-end suspension, coil springs and four-wheel disc brakes that allow this monstrous ride to stop galloping at a moment’s notice.

What’s really impressive is that this Countach was owned by a single family since it came out of the production lines, and that it was driven for just 864 kilometers or 536 miles. The car is in perfect condition and so it is expected to draw in between $600,000 and $800,000 – realistic figures considering its exclusivity, power and fabulous looks.

The Countach LP400S Series I was limited to just 50 units, and it became widely recognized for its amazing Campagnolo Bravo wheels, which were later nicknamed “telephone dials” due to their appearance. This particular car also impresses with a rare paintjob called Colorado Copper, which was also seen in 1980 on the Countach that took part in the Monaco Grand Prix. This 1979 Countach was never registered, it features its original set of keys, its original stereo and original upholstery. Anyone who has developed a taste for the classics is bound to agree that this ride is worth every penny and more.
