World’s Longest Sea Bridge – a Money Guzzler

The Qingdao Haiwan Bridge

China is proud to present the new record-braking Qingdao Haiwan Bridge. It is the longest one in the world, measuring 26.4 miles, or 42.6 kilometers. As suggested by its name, the bridge links Qingdao city with the province of Huangdao. Thanks to this impressive structure, the two points are now 30 km closer, and tourists have already started to come and see the wonder in great numbers. Featuring 450,000 tons of steel that can face a magnitude 8.0 earthquake, the whole construction cost China $8.6 billion.
