Wildcat’s LS3-Powered Land Rover Defender

It’s not every day that you see a lumbering SUV going toe-to-toe with supercars, but the LS3-Powered Land Rover Defender by Wildcat has everything it takes to play with the big boys. The vehicle was modified extensively by a UK-based firm named Wildcat Automotive, and it now flaunts no less than 430 horsepower under its hood, all thanks to its 6.2-liter LS3 V8 gasoline engine that was borrowed from a Chevrolet Corvette.

Making sure that the car would be able to cope with its newfound power, the experts over at Wildcat replaced its stock gearbox with a GM 6L80 six-speed automatic. Furthermore, the company offers to upgrade the Land Rover Defender even more in order to allow it to boast more than 550 horsepower. And since we’re talking about a complete engine replacement, the four-wheeler’s vehicle management system was reconfigured extensively in order to ensure that all of its original controls and instruments function properly.
