VWVortex Creates a Powerful Superbeetle

Also known as the “world’s largest Volkswagen enthusiast website”, VWVortex decided to create a fabulous-looking and extremely powerful Superbeetle honoring the model’s 75th anniversary. This improved Beetle is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that received a wide array of modifications in order to allow it to reach a whole new power level.

This little beast flaunts no less than 500 horsepower, which were squeezed out of the relatively small engine by VWVortex’s experts by stripping the engine down and rebuilding it using aftermarket parts. Most of the new horsepower comes from a brand new Garret GTX2867R Turbo that was paired with a new engine management system and some heavy tuning in order to unleash its full potential. As if the vehicle’s improved power wasn’t enough, the Superbeetle also received all-wheel drive from a VW Golf R as well as rear brake calipers from a Golf R32 and an Audi TTRS subframe.

When it comes down to numbers, this little runner can do a 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.8 seconds, which is not bad at all.
