Very Rare Apple 1 Computer Sold (7)

Way before Apple became the tech giant that it is today, the company dabbled in more humble devices such as the 200 computers built by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniac in 1976. One of these very rare computers was actually auctioned off for $815,000, and it was purchased by the co-founders of the Glamglow firm, Glenn and Shannon Dellimore.

Dubbed Apple 1, this computer is the only one known to incorporate a pre-production circuit board, which was apparently soldered manually onto a blank PC board. This board also includes higher quality parts when compared to the production models, which must have had something to do with the final price. Getting into the technical details, we can tell you that the entire Apple 1 set was sold with a cassette interface board, two cassettes, 4KB memory expansion, and several original manuals and other documentation pieces.

The best news is that 10 percent of the proceeds from this auction will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
