Living in an old coal barge may not sound that appealing, but after you’ve seen this awesome project by Oyster Pier, you will actually find the idea quite exciting. The penthouse that you see in these pictures is the first project of its kind, and nine more similar ones have also been moored on the river by the same company. It is a 2,300 square foot plush home that actually costs a fraction of what a similarly sized and appointed apartment would cost on land. The Dutch barge is called Vega IV, and it used to transport coal back in its youth days.
