We’ve all seen those underwater documentaries that showcase beautifully colored fish and plants, but let’s face it: it’s not a walk in the park to just strap on a diving suit and go exploring into the depths. However, the mysteries that wait under the waves can still be discovered with the help of high-end, modern submersibles such as the Super Yacht Sub 3.
This luxurious submersible was created by a company called U-Boat Worx, and it was specifically sketched out to meet the demanding requirements of superyacht owners. It can accommodate up to 3 people and travel at a depth of up to 1,000 feet, but what’s even more impressive is the fact that it boasts air conditioning systems as well as luxe leather seats.
Equipped with a very efficient 42kWh lithium-ion battery system, the Super Yacht Sub 3 can roam underwater for up to 12 hours before it needs a recharge. If things go south, the passengers benefit from 96 hours of life support, and that’s plenty of time for rescue teams to find them and safely bring them back to the surface. Those who are interested in owning a Super Yacht Sub 3 will be glad to know that deliveries are scheduled to start in September 2015. The $2.2 million price tag is kind of steep though.
