Having a golden toilet in your own house might be a bit absurd and certainly quite extravagant, but when the item in question is being created by a renowned artist, it definitely takes on a new purpose. This exquisite gold toilet was created by none other than Maurizio Cattelan, and it signifies his official comeback from retirement.
It will be installed at the Guggenheim as part of the Tribeca Film Festival, and it will sit in a small room equipped with a sink, a mirror, tiles and a lockable door. Obviously, the toilet was created in order to make a statement, but artists rarely reveal exactly what they want to express through their creations, which means that you’ll likely have to figure this out by yourself.
