A museum of art and architecture can only be an impressive building. Steven Holl Architects have finished building the very modern Nanjing Museum of Art and Architecture, a sculptural building with galleries, a bookstore, a tea room and a residence for the curator.
A large staircase connects the suspended galleries to the ground, creating a unique visual effect. Surrounding the museum is a modern, geometric fence. The whole structure is remarkable in itself, but one must also admire the beautiful setting of the complex.
