The Surprisingly Warm Heavy Metal Residence

Heavy Metal Residence (18)

As cold and unwelcoming as its name may sound, the Heavy Metal Residence is actually a lovely contemporary home with a warm personality and elegant, friendly interiors. It was designed by Huff Projects, a Kansas City-based studio, and it was completed in 2007. You can find it in Joplin, a city in Missouri, USA.

Offering 7,000 square feet of living spaces, the glass, steel and concrete house is set on an 8-acre lot that is populated by numerous trees. The gorgeous rugged landscape can be admired from inside the house through large glass openings.

Privacy being a very important issue for everybody, the designers of this remarkable residence decided to use custom perforated steel panels to shield the aforementioned glass openings. When these panels are closed, the house is still connected to the environment through thousands of tiny perforations, while the dwellers can enjoy full privacy in the comfort of their home.
