For those of you who can no longer be satisfied by a classic watch, we present the outstanding Urwerk UR-1001 Zeit Device. It’s a timepiece that shows more than just the seconds, minutes and hours of the day. This baby can even tell you what century or millennium you live in (this feature will prove very useful when time machines will become common means of transport).
Reading this watch can be quite a challenge, so customers might need a little training before leaving the shop with their new acquisition. The bottom corner of the dial is where the minutes are displayed and they are pointed out by the hand which also shows the hours. The seconds are indicated on a separate small dial. The date and month dial is similar to that of the hours and it is located right next to the day and night indicator.
On the back of the dial, there are three more indicators: is a large millennium one, a small century one and an “oil-change” or servicing time one. For this very special watch, Urwerk used a Titanium Aluminum Nitride alloy and a stainless steel base. Inside the complicated timepiece there are 51 jewels, including a number of precious stones. Production will be limited to only 8 pieces, each one bearing its personal serial number. Price has not been revealed yet, but it’s not difficult to see it will be a pretty steep one.
